Connecticut’s most popular morning team, Chaz and AJ (WPLR & WFOX) spent last week on-air, on-line and at Jordan’s Furniture New Haven collecting cash and toys equaling over $166k to be distributed to five local charities.
Due to current COVID guidelines, the “Chaz and AJ McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven Toy Drive” couldn’t happen the way it has in years past--as a big event at Jordan’s Furniture New Haven for 2020. As an alternative, and to not let their charity partners down, the show spent the whole week raising cash and toys on the air and on-site at Jordan’s.
From 5:30am – 10am Monday through Friday, on 99.1 PLR and 95.9 The FOX, the show featured musical guests, local celebrities, political dignitaries and the usual Chaz and AJ shenanigans to help drive donations to www.chazandaj.com. Then, each day from 10am – 4pm, radio station representatives were at Jordan’s Furniture New Haven collecting toys & cash.
“The outpouring of generosity in this very difficult year was truly incredible,” Chaz said, “Every year we try to raise a little bit more than the year before but our expectations for 2020 were very measured. We are absolutely blown away by this total.”
