Boys & Girls Village Kicks-Off Annual Toy Drive

Boys & Girls Village (BGV), a leader in providing mental health treatment, permanency planning and educational services for Connecticut’s most vulnerable youth, announced today that it’s annual holiday toy drive is underway.

The toy drive is comprised of nearly 600 wishes from children served by the organization. The children either attend BGV’s Charles F. Hayden special education school, or are served by BGV’s behavioral health services, including those who attend the organization’s residential treatment facility. For some children, these gifts will be the only holiday gift they will receive.

The drive is going on through December 10, and gifts may be purchased through BGV’s online registry of wishes. Gifts range in price from $6 to $40, and span from board games and puzzles to arts and crafts and gift cards. Please visit the registry at https://www.myregistry.com/organization/boys-and-girls-village-milford-ct/3058012/giftlist to view wishes and make purchases.

“In serving Connecticut’s most at-risk youth and their families for over 75 years, we know that the holidays can be a very difficult time,” said Kim Shaunesey, BGV C.E.O. and President. “As we help them to receive the treatment, education, and support they need to build a brighter future, we ask the community to help grant these wishes and provide them with a happier holiday season.”

If there is interest in providing a gift that is not listed on the registry, unwrapped gifts can be delivered to Boys & Girls Village, located at 528 Wheelers Farms Road in Milford. Donations of wrapping supplies, such as gift wrap and bows, are also needed.

Questions may be directed to Marie Pelaccia at Pelacciam@bgvillage.org or call 203-713-7705.
