Connecticut’s most popular morning radio team, Chaz and AJ, are taking their show to Jordan’s Furniture New Haven for their yearly toy drive this Friday, December 10th.
The “Chaz and AJ McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven Toy Drive” morning drive live radio broadcast will once again be starting at 5:30am ending at 10am. Entrance to the event is free with a donation of an unwrapped toy. This year the show includes performances from John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, Jeff Pitchell and the Texas Flood as well as local youth school and band, Rock House. The show will also include local celebrities, political dignitaries including Governor Ned Lamont and US Senator Richard Blumenthal, plus the usual Chaz and AJ shenanigans that their fans know and love.
“It has been a very difficult two years for everyone, but it certainly has had a major impact on children,” Chaz said, “We do this toy drive in hopes that we can make the holidays brighter for children that need it the most”.
The toys will be immediately distributed to Boys and Girls Village, McGivney Community Center, Boys and Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley, The Center for Family Justice and the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA. These are local charities that help children in Connecticut.
“The Chaz and AJ McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven Toy Drive is one of the biggest events we do all year long. The circumstances of last year forced us to go virtual, so it is great that we can be live in front of this very caring and giving audience.” said VP of Programming, Keith Dakin, “The highlight of the event is at 10am when you just see that giant pile of toys and knowing that you are putting a smile on a child’s face.”
All attendees will be asked to wear a mask per the current New Haven indoor mask mandate. The first 200 listeners will receive a special Chaz & AJ mask.
