Devon Rotary has completed a remarkable transformation of the Beth-El Center's food/meal program by renovating its kitchen and dining hall. The renovation was necessary to address issues raised by the health department regarding damaged and non-approved ceiling tiles, old dim lighting, and HVAC grills. The project, which spanned nine work sessions, was carried out with care, dedication, and attention to detail.
The renovation included replacing all the ceiling tiles and HVAC grills in the dining room to meet the approved standards of the health department. The club also installed new LED lights to replace old dim and yellowed lights, making the dining hall brighter and more inviting. Similarly, the ceilings in the kitchen area were replaced with approved commercial kitchen tiles, and all new LED lights were installed in both rooms and the hall.
Devon Rotarians worked tirelessly to complete the project, which had to be carried out over numerous partial days due to scheduling constraints. The team cleaned the entire dining room and kitchen after every work session due to the significant amount of debris and dirt that fell from above the ceilings.
The club cleaned and painted all the ceiling grids in the dining room, sanded and painted the grid, and removed all the old lights and wiring. They installed new LED lights, wired them, and helped the contractor install new ceiling pads and HVAC ceiling grills. The same was done for the ceiling grids in the kitchen and store rooms, with additional ceiling supports installed by the contractor. All the old lights and wiring were removed and replaced with new LED lights.
"I am grateful to the hardworking and dedicated members of our club who came together to make this project a success.
