Ever wonder about some of the insects spotted right outside your home? How about the ones you don’t see within your home? Come join Advanced Master Gardener Nicole Christensen at the Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby, Connecticut on Saturday, January 27, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM as she presents on the fascinating world of insects!
 
Nicole Christensen has organized and identified many insects for the Fairfield Master Gardener Office in Bethel, CT. Find out just who is lurking in your garden while learning interesting and fun facts about the creatures who often times get an undeserved bad rap. Learn to recognize the good guys from the bad and get a good look at those creatures that call our backyards home.
 
Nicole Christensen, a resident of Connecticut for over twenty years, has gardened since she was a child. She blogs professionally as the Suburban Farmgirl Blogger, writing for the internationally published organic lifestyle magazine, MaryJaneFarm. Nicole became a Certified Master Gardener in 2015 and an Advanced Master Gardener in 2017. In addition to writing and gardening, she also teaches knitting classes, is a mom and has a menagerie of animals including backyard chickens.
 
This event is free and open to the public. All ages are encouraged to come and learn more about the fascinating world of backyard insects. Registration is requested, but not required.
 
The Kellogg Environmental Center, a facility of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, is open 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
