Band Together to Perform at Norma Pfriem Breast Center's Pink Pledge

FAIRFIELD, CT – Band Together CT, a network of talented musicians and artists who perform to raise funds for charity, will perform at the kick-off event for the Norma Pfriem Breast Center’s Pink Pledge.  Pink Pledge, which kicks-off on September 27, is a month-long, community-wide campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer and to increase access to the charitable programs of the Norma Pfriem Breast Center, a part of Smilow Cancer Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital.

The kick-off takes place on the on the Fairfield Town Hall Green, beginning at 5:30pm.

A separate grant from Band Together CT and Denise Walsh & Partners, made through the group’s donor advised fund at the Fairfield County Community Foundation, will benefit the Norma Pfriem Brest Center’s financial aid program for patients.

Band Together CT unites musicians to perform for charities at least six times a year.  Each show has a different theme, and the concerts attract large crowds.  The group has raised over $1 million for various charities.

“We’re grateful to Band Together CT for generously donating their time and talent to raise funds for our programs for women who need assistance paying for healthcare,” said Donna Twist, PhD, executive director of Norma Pfriem Breast Center and vice president of the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation.  “Their gift of $7,000 will impact the lives of many of our patients, who need help paying for everything from screening services to transportation to the clinic.”

This year’s Pink Pledge co-chairs are Marlene BattistaAmy Desel, and Meghan McCloat, members of the Breast Center’s President’s Council.  They are working with individuals, schools, fitness centers, restaurants, businesses, town offices and many others to take part in Pink Pledge 2018 by sponsoring activities throughout the month of October.
