The Milford chapter of Moms Demand Action, Milford Speaks Out, and the Connecticut chapter of the National Organization for Women have joined forces with the Milford Public Library to present a free screening of the documentary “Newtown,” followed by a discussion on gun reform. All are welcome to attend this community event, which will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in the Milford Library's Community Room.
Filmed over the course of nearly three years, the makers of “Newtown” use unique access and never-before-heard testimonies to tell a story of the aftermath of the deadliest mass shooting of schoolchildren in American history on December 14, 2012. Newtown documents a traumatized community fractured by grief and driven toward a sense of purpose. Joining the ranks of a growing club to which no one wants to belong, a cast of characters interconnect to weave an intimate story of community resilience. Light refreshments will be provided.
