Immigration in U.S. History – a Milford Library Zoom presentation
As a nation of immigrants, the U.S. has, from its earliest beginnings, found that the subject of immigration is one of concern. Who gets to come here? What qualifications do they need? From Ireland, Italy, Eastern Europe, the Far East, in fact, from all over the globe, people have come to America to try to make a better life for their families. This presentation details the history of immigration in this country, and tells the story of various immigrant groups and their reception.
This lecture will be presented on December 9 at 7pm via Zoom, by Capitol Community College professor Hamish Lutris. Lutris has lectured in libraries throughout the state, and his talks are well researched, lively and engaging. His knowledge of history is more than impressive.
