Trumbull, CT — The Kennedy Center and People's United Community Foundation are hosting a special reception to celebrate the unveiling of The Kennedy Center's 2022 ‘A Unique Perspective’ Calendar. The reception will be held on December 8, 2021, from 5:30 – 7pm at the Read's Artspace located at 1042 Broad Street, Bridgeport, CT. Guests will meet the calendar artists, experience the inspirational exhibit, and enjoy refreshments prepared by Soups and Such, The Kennedy Center’s catering enterprise. All guests will receive a complimentary 2022 “A Unique Perspective” calendar.

2021/2022 marks the 70th anniversary of The Kennedy Center and the 39th anniversary of the ‘A Unique Perspective’ Calendar. This year’s calendar is a retrospective celebrating the amazing artists and their vibrant and expressive creations that have graced the calendars throughout the years.

“We are dedicating our 2022 calendar to Lynn McCrystal, former Vice President of Business Enterprises at The Kennedy Center,” commented Rick Sebastian, The Kennedy Center President & CEO. “Lynn was The Kennedy Center’s first art therapist and the driving force behind the creation of the annual calendar which provides a platform for artists of all abilities to showcase their talents. Lynn led with vision, conviction, and compassion while remaining steadfast in her commitment to the arts. Her dream of designating a space where diverse people come together to make art, inspire one another, and break down barriers was fully realized with the opening of The Kennedy Center’s Maggie Daly Arts Cooperative (MDAC) in 2014. We thank Lynn for her amazing and enduring contribution to The Kennedy Center’s arts program.”

The Kennedy Center calendar reception also celebrates People’s United Bank, a treasured community partner for 39 years. “Since the calendar first debuted in 1983,” added Sebastian, “The Kennedy Center and People’s United Bank have enjoyed an enduring partnership that seamlessly blends the worlds of business, art, and social services. We thank People’s United Bank for their heartfelt support of “A Unique Perspective” – a month-by-month celebration of creativity and talent and the transcendence of traditional expectations when the impossible becomes possible.”
