Milford Mayor Announces Return of Popular Extended Hours at Transfer Station

Mayor Benjamin G. Blake has announced the return of the extended hours at the Transfer Station, which will begin Saturday, April 14th and run through mid-December.

The extended hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Regular weekday hours will remain the same (7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.).  “This program gives residents a convenient way to dispose of their bulky trash items, while leaving less for city crews to pick up, offering cost savings to the city,” said Mayor Blake.  “I look forward to another successful program again this year.”

As a reminder, this program is for Milford residents only.  The extended hours do not apply to commercial haulers.  Visitors to the Transfer Station will be asked to present their vehicle registration at the gate.

The Public Works Department also reminds residents that no construction and demolition (C&D) materials will be taken at the Transfer Station.  These items may be brought to Waste Management at 221 Old Gate Lane, Milford (203 882-5840) on Saturdays, only, from 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.  Residents are responsible for disposal costs.
