Milford Mayor Announces Return of Popular Extended Hours at Transfer Station

Mayor Benjamin G. Blake has announced the return of extended hours at the Transfer Station beginning April 11, 2020, and running through mid-December. The extended hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Regular weekday hours will remain the same (7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.).

As a reminder, this program is for Milford residents only.  The extended hours do not apply to commercial haulers.  Visitors to the Transfer Station will be asked to present their vehicle registration at the gate.

The Public Works Department also reminds residents that construction and demolition (C&D) materials will not be accepted at the Transfer Station. These items may be brought to Waste Conversion, 221 Old Gate Lane, Milford (203-882-5840) M-F, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.  This is a private company; therefore, residents are responsible for disposal costs.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the City will monitor community health conditions before determining whether the 2020 spring bulk trash pick-up moves forward in May, is postponed, canceled, or modified. A separate announcement will be made concerning the spring pick-up.
