In anticipation of the pending snowstorm, the City of Milford has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY

City of Milford declares Snow Emergency: alternate side of the street parking in effect starting at 12:00 am Saturday, January 29 through 8:00pm Sunday, January 30, 2022.

Vehicles parked on City roads should be parked on the odd number side of the street from Saturday, January 29 until 8:00am Sunday, January 30. On Sunday, January 30, vehicles should be moved to the even number side of the street. This alternate side of the street parking ban will be lifted at 8:00pm, Sunday, January 30, 2022.

This ban will allow plows to keep roads passable and accessible to emergency vehicles. [OFF STREET PARKING SHOULD BE UTILIZED WHERE POSSIBLE.] Also, residents are reminded that they are responsible for shoveling snow and ice from their sidewalks and property.

On Saturday, January 29th, City facilities will be closed to the public, including Parsons Government Center, Milford Public Library, and the Milford Transfer Station.

All City Departments have been taking action to guard and protect residents against the impact of the storm, but the help of everyone is needed throughout this event. If you live near elderly or infirmed neighbors, please check in on them as often as it is safe to do so. Preparations should be made for prolonged loss of power and residents are urged to use extreme caution when using and fueling generators. Please DO NOT use candles. If generators are used, they should be operated outside in well-ventilated areas. Anyone experiencing a power outage is encouraged to notify United Illuminating at 1-800-722-5584.

Thank you and be safe
