John B. DeRosa, 49, a longtime resident of Milford and beloved husband of Barbara Catapano DeRosa, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2015. He was born on April 13, 1966 to Lawrence and the late Georgianna Shatkus DeRosa.
John graduated from Notre Dame High School with the class of 1984 and then went on to get his BA in Biblical studies from Vision Christian University in 1990. In 2003, he received his MBA in Management Systems from Quinnipiac University, where he was an adjunct professor from 1993-2003. John was the Regional Manager of Network Systems at Hubble, Inc., a career he thoroughly enjoyed.
John loved to coach his children’s basketball, baseball and softball games. His lifelong passion was in ministry which he longed to share with everyone. Later in life he became involved in Milford Board of Education. He was an avid sports enthusiast and especially loved cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, John leaves behind his children, Raymond and Rebekah DeRosa; his brother, Robert (Audra) DeRosa; his uncle, Paul (Judy) DeRosa; his brothers-in-law, Tony Catapano and Walter Catapano; his sisters-in-law, Laura Catapano and Stacey Catapano; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Lawrence DeRosa, Sr. and Margarete Ricco DeRosa and his maternal grandparents, Benedict Shatkus and Brunie Gildus Shatkus. John’s family would especially like to thank the whole Milford community, Hubble, Inc. and Andrew and Virginia Catapano for their love and support.
