Milford Public Library 2018 November Program Calendar

November at the Library

Help bring StoryWalk to Milford! Eagle Scout candidate, Marco Buschauer, from Troop 1 in Milford, is working on a wonderful new project that will benefit all residents.  He is raising funds and will construct a StoryWalk in Eisenhower Park.

StoryWalk promotes literacy and exercise in young children and encourages families to spend time together in nature by placing pages of a storybook in stands along a path, encouraging people to read the book while walking outside.

The books will be changed on a quarterly basis by library staff, and while mostly showcasing children's books, adult poetry and short stories may also be featured.  The project has been fully approved by the Milford Park & Recreation Commission and is supported by the Milford Public Library. For more information, refer to http://www.milfordstorywalk.org.

A facebook page (view it here) has also been created to keep the community up to date on the progress of the project.

Donations are gratefully accepted. Checks should be made payable to "Friends of the Milford Library - Storywalk" and can be mailed to Friends of the Milford Library, 57 New Haven Avenue, Milford, CT 06460. Please include this Charitable Donation Form with your donation.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up for online donations: https://www.gofundme.com/y624y

Thank you for your support of this exciting project!
