ASD Fitness Center, a fitness center for individuals on the autism spectrum in Orange, Conn., is hosting a free workshop to inform and empower parents about special education law.
Lawrence Berliner, special education law and disability rights attorney in Guilford and Westport, Conn., is the speaker. Attorney Berliner has been representing children with disabilities and their families for 36 years and founded the Law Office of Lawrence W. Berliner, LLC in 2011.
This workshop will take place on March 26, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at ASD Fitness Center, 307 Racebrook Road in Orange, Conn.
Parents will learn proactive strategies to effectively advocate for their child’s rights. A Question and Answer session will follow the presentation.
Topics will include:
- Your Child’s Special Education Rights
- Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and the Annual Review
- What to do when your child is struggling and the school is not responding
- The role of a lawyer in the special education process
