Congratulations to Milford Prevention Council's June 2019 Heroes of the Month John & Barbara Carissimi - Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Volunteer Group
MPC is pleased to announce the June 2019 Heroes of the Month, John & Barbara Carissimi, Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Volunteer Group (CPAAV).
John and Barbara Carissimi recently received the Meeting Critical Needs award from the United Way’s annual Community Builder Awards Dinner for their creation and management of the Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Volunteer group. A volunteer alumni force of the Milford Citizen's Police Academy that work with the department to help police staff volunteer traffic assignments at community events such as the Milford Oyster Festival and most recently our biannual Drug Take-Back Day held this past April. John & Barbara work together to improve communication and recruit more alumni into the group - currently, there are 30 active alumni members and many more who are inactive, but still available if they are really needed.
