Meet Milford Prevention Council's Hero of the Month

Milford Prevention Council (MPC) is pleased to announce the Hero of the Month for November 2019, Emily Nolan, St. Mary School.

Emily Nolan has been a part of the St. Mary School staff for just over 9 years and in that time has made an undeniable positive impact on the lives of the students, their families and the staff of the school.

Whether teaching music, preschool, second grade, fourth grade, helping with any event, or all the after-hours face-time and participation, she goes above and beyond and gives her all every day. With the love of her vocation, patience, work ethic, creativity, drive and sweet voice, there is a lot to admire.  In her years as second grade teacher, she genuinely shared the joy and excitement of her students and their families as the second graders make the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

She is a member of many teaching groups sharing ideas to keep lessons and teaching current and fresh, she serves on almost any committee the school offers such as safety, uniform, Catholic Schools Week, reaccreditation, and also leads many after school enrichment programs such as STEAM, Preschool Sing-a-long, and Book Clubs.

She is also a religious education teacher for the parish!  During summers she works in a number of capacities, but her favorite may be a counselor at Camp Happiness -a summer camp for children with special needs.   Her students, past and present, love her as she brings school spirit, kindness, creativity and a love of teaching to St. Mary School every single day.

Thank you Emily!
