Cory Gumbrewicz Tax Collector in Milford's Tax Collector’s Office within the Finance Department is Employee of the Month for August 2020
As the recipient of the award for the Mayor’s Employee of the Month Program, please join us in extending a warm congratulation to Cory in receiving this recognition. After a review of all of the nominations, the Selection Committee unanimously chose him as the winner for his professionalism, teamwork, positive attitude and willingness to always go above and beyond expectation.
Cory began his employment with the City of Milford on December 19, 2016 as Certified Tax Collection Clerk. He remained in that position until September 25, 2017, when he was promoted to Deputy Tax Collector. In January 2019 Cory stepped in as Acting Tax Collector, and was officially appointed Tax Collector on June 15, 2020.
Cory has proven to be a genuine asset. He has built strong working relationships with constituents and co-workers alike. He and his team have implemented improvements for the tax office to operate efficiently and effectively. Cory has added the use of an outside company for the collection of delinquent taxes; his efforts in the process of selling delinquent tax liens and the implementation of various COVID-19 relief programs are just a few examples of his accomplishments.
Cory continuously updates information on the city’s webpage for the Tax Collector’s office, communicating information clearly and concisely to taxpayers and the general public. Cory is an excellent resource for his staff as well as other city departments. He promptly responds to requests and questions in a pleasant, patient and knowledgeable manner.
Cory’s dedicated service and professionalism always exceed expectations. These are just a few of the many reasons the Mayor extends his sincere congratulations and appreciation to Cory for the outstanding attributes he exhibits as Employees of the Month.
Again, congratulations to Cory!
