Creativity Connects Milford: Meet Reverend Ken Fellenbaum

Creativity Connects Milford

What fuels a vibrant, connected, and creative community? What makes people feel good about living in Milford?

When locals share the creativity that they uncover in the nooks and crannies of their community it brings about connectivity and makes us all feel good. Believe it or not, you discover creativity every day as you walk, shop, work, and play in Milford.

Creativity connects us.

Meet Ken Fellenbaum, Reverend for  40+ years ministering in Milford.

Tell us about an organization in your town that makes you feel good

The Boys & Girls Village! This Milford nonprofit serves at-risk boys, girls, and families by providing therapeutic services in the community, permanency planning, a K-12 day school for children with special behavioral and educational needs, and residential programming. It has served the region's children, youth and families since 1942. I served on the board of Boys Village for 14 years as VP and  President for 10 years and as CEO for a decade.

Where do you go for inspiration and creativity?

I've been the pastor (semi-retired) of Wildermere Beach Congregational Church (WBCC) since 2012. WBCC which was established in 1895 - 125 years serving the Lord and West Shore of Milford! The quality of the lay leadership and participation of the membership is some of the best I have experienced in 48 yrs of ministry! (note: I was the Senior Pastor at Grace Baptist Church 1978-1999) In addition, I served on the board of MFD Police Commissioners for 16 years and I’m proud of Chief Mello and the Department.

What do you love about your community?

I love that it’s a small city with nice neighborhoods. Milford spans 17 miles of Shoreline (the longest in Connecticut) and has great restaurants!
