Eastern student Lex Edwards of Milford competes on soccer team in fall 2022

Eastern Connecticut State University's men's and women's soccer teams have begun their fall 2022 seasons. The men's team consists of 27 players and began its season on Sept. 3. The women's team consists of 26 players and began its season on Sept. 3.

Among the student-athletes is first year Lex Edwards of Milford, number 5, who majors in Exploratory Prof. Studies and plays Defense.

Head men's coach Greg DeVito entered his 16th season in 2022 with a 184-74-24 overall record. In 2021, his team compiled a 13-7 overall record and made it to the NCAA Division III tournament in Glassboro, NJ, losing to Christopher Newport University.

First-year women's head coach Sarah Tompkins is excited for the season ahead. "I could not be more excited to be a part of the Warriors family," she said. Last year, under head coach Chris D'Ambrosio, the team compiled a 7-8-2 overall record, losing to the University of Southern Maine in the Little East Conference playoffs.
