New craft beer tour launches in Milford this weekend

Today, Connecticut Beer Tours, Discover Milford, and the Connecticut Brewers Guild announced that a new craft beer tour will launch in Milford this weekend (Saturday, July 6, 2019).

Here’s how it works: You pay $15, hop on a shuttle bus, and leave the rest up to the team behind the tour, led by Michelle Stanish, co-owner of Connecticut Beer Tours (www.ctbeertours.com).

“You do the drinking, and we’ll do the driving,” said Michelle Stanish, co-owner of Connecticut Beer Tours. “That’s the idea behind the Milford Craft Beer Tour, which officially launches on Saturday.”

There are three sessions to choose from – beginning at 12:00 PM, 12:30 PM, and 1:00 PM respectively – with SBC Restaurant (33 New Haven Avenue, Milford, Conn.) serving as the pickup location. Moreover, each person signed up for the tour will get a bracelet upon hopping on the shuttle bus. Benefits of the bracelet include one free 8-ounce pour at Tribus Beer Company and Milford Point Brewing, as well as 25 percent off the entire tab at SBC Restaurant.

Each tour is approximately three hours and fifteen minutes long. Those interested in joining the tour must pre-pay online and can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/2Xp1nu1.

After months of planning, Discover Milford is proud to be working with its partners to offer this Milford-centric craft beer tour, according to the city’s economic development director Julie Nash.

“This whole idea is to promote great-tasting, locally brewed craft beer and Milford-based craft breweries,” said Nash. “With two craft breweries already operating in the city, and one more hopefully coming online just months from now, we’re happy to have a tour of our own operating in Milford.”

Phil Pappas, Executive Director of the Connecticut Brewers Guild, added that this is the first city-specific craft beer tour that he knows of in the state and hopes that it’s the start of a trend.

“This is such a good idea,” said Pappas. “Milford’s growing craft beer scene is serving as a tool for job creation, neighborhood revitalization, and tax revenue generation. Also, it’s not just happening in Milford, but it’s also happening in cities and towns across the state. I hope folks in Milford and beyond enjoy the tour this holiday weekend and that other cities and breweries statewide take note.”

Other dates for the tour this summer are as follows:
Saturday, July 20, 2019
Saturday, August 3, 2019
Saturday, August 17, 2019
