Milford's Pantochino Wins Theatre of the Year Award

Pantochino Productions Inc, Milford’s professional, not-for-profit theatre company for family audiences has won in 10 awards in the the 2019 BroadwayWorld Regional Awards including Theatre of the Year and Best Musical for it’s original creation “The Waffle House Five.”

Making it’s debut at the MAC, Milford Arts Council in May, “The Waffle House Five” features book and lyrics by Bert Bernardi and music by Justin Rugg. The show also won awards for Best Ensemble of a Musical, Best Set Design (Von Del Mar), Best Sound Design (Sara Brown), Best Director (Bernardi), Best Playwright (Bernardi).

Pantochino also won top honors in the performing categories of Best Actor in a Musical (Jimmy Johansmeyer in “Glitz”), Best Choreographer  (Matthew Guerrera, “The Wizard of Oz Sort Of”), and Best Costume Design (Johansmeyer, “Beat Bugs:A Musical Adventure”).

Pantochino Productions Inc., co-produced by Bernardi and Johansmeyer, is a non union, professional theatre company now in it’s ninth season. In addition to original musicals, the company produces an acclaimed Summer Theatre Camp series, a thriving Teen Theatre program, a popular After School Drama Club series in area schools and,  partners with the Milford Arts Council in producing the Nite Spot Nights series.
