Downtown Milford Highlights Small Businesses for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day usually falls right at the height of spring in Downtown Milford, and this year is no exception. However, Downtown Milford, like much of the country, looks a bit different during the COVID-19 pandemic then it did before. That’s why the members of the Downtown Milford Business Association are banding together to help make Mother’s Day special—and perhaps a bit easier— for the community. 

Starting May 1, participating stores are offering a reason to get out of the house and enjoy a socially-distant stroll downtown next week with a special window-shopping display. Each display will include three or more gift items, along with prices, sizes, and information on how to make a purchase. After browsing from window to window, shoppers can select and order a gift directly from the shop, which will then be available for pick up.  

“This is a fun way to safely shop from six feet away while still supporting our local businesses who’ve had to shut their doors,” said Tracy Bonosconi, DMBA President. “It’s also a nice reason to leave the house and enjoy our beautiful downtown in full bloom.”

“Window Shop for Mother’s Day” begins on May 1 and participating stores include The Body Waxing Studio, The Canvas Patch, Inpopnito, Inside Living Style, Island Time, Galina’s, The Lovet Shop, Makeup Makeup, Sophie Claire’s, SunSpray Tans, and SV Decker Jewelry.
