Beth-El Center Shelter and Soup Kitchen Receives Foundation Grant

Beth-El Center homeless shelter and soup kitchen in Milford has been awarded a $90,000 multi-year grant from The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.

The grant will be paid out in $30,000 increments over three years to provide general operating assistance for the shelter, its support services, advocacy and community education.

“Our Center is proud and honored to be chosen as a responsive grant recipient to help us respond to the critical housing needs of our community,” says Beth-El Center Executive Director, Jennifer Paradis. “This funding will help further our agency’s mission of providing emergency shelter and housing opportunities for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.”

This grant will allow the Center to maintain the increased capacity of its programs due to COVID- 19 as shelter and food needs were on the rise prior to the pandemic. It will also support the expansion of other programs including outreach and engagement services.
