New Haven's Q Bridge Goes Red, White & Blue for Veterans Day

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the State of Connecticut will illuminate the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven – informally known by many residents as the Q Bridge – in red, white, and blue lights on the evenings of Tuesday, November 10 and Wednesday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day.

Beacons capable of projecting light nearly six miles into the clear night sky will shine on the bridge from sunset until 1:00 a.m. during each of those nights. The bridge is operated and maintained by the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

“I am proud that nearly 280,000 veterans call Connecticut their home – they are true heroes and we honor them,” Governor Lamont said. “The veterans of the United States military put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms. They represent the best of our country, and we thank each of them for the immeasurable service they’ve provided to every one of us. On this Veterans Day, I encourage everyone in Connecticut to take a moment and thank all veterans who bravely and honorably served in our military.”
