Beth-El Center COVID Response: Milford Shelter Operations Move to Local Motels

As COVID positivity rates continue to rise, the Beth-El Center is shifting its 24/7 shelter operations to motels to provide safe, independent shelter for families, individuals and veterans experiencing homelessness during this crisis. With this, our 90 New Haven Avenue Milford location will only be open for food program and administrative purposes now through March 15, 2021.

Beth-El Center’s services are still functioning at full capacity. All shelter residents have been moved from the Center to motel rooms to eliminate the congregate setting and to achieve optimal health and safety for everyone. All food programs including our daily meal distribution will remain in place until further notice. Please view our website’s food calendar for details.

“The move to motels is an additional step in our ongoing work to maintain services while allowing for adequate physical distancing and keeping our residents and staff safe while we navigate the pandemic during these cold winter months,” according to Jenn Paradis, Beth-El Center Executive Director. “After some reconfiguring and changes, we’re still fully operational to assist the most vulnerable in our community during this time of crisis. We are so very appreciative of our community supporters and we want to ensure all that we’re prepared and ready to celebrate the holidays with our residents.”

As an extra precaution, the Beth-El Center will not be accepting donations until after the Christmas holiday when the administrative staff returns to the Center. To contact us or for information, please call the Center at 203.876.0747 between 8am and 4pm, Monday-Friday or leave a message in our general mailbox and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. E-mail us at info@bethelmilford.orgfor an immediate response.
