Milford Public Library 2023 February Program Calendar

February News at the Library!

We honor Black History Month with a visit from staff of The Ruby and Calvin Fletcher African American History Museum. The museum, located in Stratford, CT, is the first museum in Connecticut solely dedicated to telling of the struggles, as well as the triumphs, of African Americans throughout history. Come walk in the shoes of many of our African American ancestors. Immerse yourself and see America’s history through the eyes of those that have gone before us. Museum artifacts will also be on-hand for audience members. This presentation is appropriate for adults, as well as all students in grades 6-12. The museum will be here Thursday, February 2, at 7:00pm.

This month you will see begin to see changes to the program listings on the library website, as well as changes to some of the other website content.  We have heard that our pages are clunky and have started a subscription to an online program registration software, LibCal.  We will no longer list each program on the website, but instead have a link to an online program listing and calendar. Our Young Adult and Children's Department have been trying it out this past month and we will be adding the adult programs very soon. Paper calendars can be printed here, and are available at all library service desks.

Again, THANK YOU for your continued patience as we navigate services while the elevator is not working.  It has been a long time - we hear your frustration, and appreciate how difficult it is to access services for many of our users. The City is working to find replacement parts for the elevator, while at the same time preparing a bid package to have the elevator replaced so this does not happen again.  Please contact us if you need assistance; staff are happy to make accommodations in services, bring materials to the lower level, etc. Please stick with us.

Be sure to check the calendar for ALL the adult, children's and teen programs we have planned - staff have been busy!  And, as always, thank you to the Friends of the Milford Library for funding all our programs!
