On, January 19, 2018, an armed robbery was reported at Smash Burger, 1590 Boston Post Road, Milford.
Two males, identified as Royshon Ferguson (B/M, 21) 263 Norton Street, New Haven and Gregory McLaurin (B/M, 22) 47 Level Street, New Haven are accused of entering Smash Burger armed with a .22 caliber handgun and ordering all the workers and customers into the kitchen at gunpoint.
While in the kitchen, McLaurin told the manager to open the safe or he would shoot her in the head. The manager opened the safe and McLaurin started taking the money out while Ferguson went back out to the front to empty the cash registers. A permitted pistol carrying customer stated that when Ferguson left the kitchen, leaving McLaurin alone; he saw an opportunity to change the situation. The customer drew his firearm and pointing it at McLaurin. McLaurin panicked and ran out of the kitchen as the customer gave chase. While in the front of the restaurant, the customer saw McLaurin run out of the building leaving Ferguson behind. The customer approached Ferguson who still had the handgun in his hand and was taking money out of the cash registers. The customer stated that Ferguson also panicked when he saw the customer’s firearm.

Larceny 4th
Kidnapping 1 st with a Firearm
Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping 1 st with a Firearm
Carrying a Pistol without a Permit
Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
Interfering with an Officer
McLaurin is charged with the following:
Robbery 1st
Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 1st
Threatening 1st
Larceny 4th
Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4th
Kidnapping 1 st with a Firearm
Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping 1 st with a Firearm
Carrying a Pistol without a Permit
Criminal Mischief 3rd
Interfering with an Officer
Both Ferguson and McLaurin we’re held on $500,000 bond to appear in Milford Court on January 22, 2018.
