Milford Police make arrest in robberies with a firearm

*Arrest made in Downtown Milford robberies*

The Milford Police Department was actively investigating two separate robberies with a firearm that occurred on October 8, 2018 and October 10, 2018 in the downtown Milford area. Both were believed to be committed by the same suspect.

The robbery on October 8, 2018 was committed at the drive-up ATM machine located at People’s United Bank, 190 South Broad Street, Milford and the robbery on October 10, 2018 was committed at the Taste of Thai Restaurant, 22 South Broad Street, Milford. In both incidents the suspect pointed a black handgun at the victims. Milford Police Detectives began an extensive investigation into these robberies, and utilizing surveillance camera footage were able to identify the suspect, Tasmine Shannonhouse (B/M, 25) 209 Katherine Drive, Hamden. A search warrant was obtained and the firearm (BB gun) used in the robberies was located inside the suspect’s apartment when the arrest was made.

It was also learned that Shannonhouse had an active warrant for his arrest, accusing him of failing to pay a marijuana infraction he received in Norwalk on February 1, 2014.

Shannonhouse was charged with: Robbery 1st (2 counts) Larceny 2nd (2 counts) Illegal possession of a firearm (2 counts)

Shannonhouse was held on a $200,250 bond for both cases and the warrant, to appear in Milford Court on October 22, 2018.
