State Police Announce DWI/Sobriety Checkpoint on I-91 in New Haven

On Sunday, May 26, 2019, from 7:00 pm – 3:00 am, State Troopers from the Connecticut State Police, Troop G – Bridgeport Barracks will conduct a DWI / Sobriety Checkpoint on Interstate 91 northbound and southbound off-ramps in New Haven.

This checkpoint is a continuing effort by State Police personnel to identify motorists who are operating vehicles under the influence of liquor and/or drugs.

State Troopers will stop all vehicles at the checkpoint location to determine whether motorists have consumed alcoholic beverages prior to operating their vehicle as well as checking for compliance with other Connecticut State Laws.

This checkpoint will be clearly marked with emergency flashing lights as well as reflective signs. The safety of the public will be the primary concern of State Police personnel assigned to the checkpoint.

Lieutenant Erik Mullai, the Commanding Officer at Troop H, reminds motorists that Connecticut State Troopers are extremely vigilant in their DUI enforcement efforts and that the State Police will have extra State Troopers on duty to concentrate on DUI enforcement. In addition to this sobriety checkpoint, State Troopers will emphasize seat belt safety enforcement.
