Milford Police Arrest Resident in Connection to Shell Food Mart Robberies

On February 14, 2021 at about 1:45 PM Milford Police responded to Shell Food Mart located at 524 New Haven Ave on the report of a robbery. A preliminary investigation found that a male suspect entered the gas station, displayed a knife, and fled on foot.

At approximately 7:15 PM Milford Police responded to Shell Food Mart located at 1345 New Haven Ave on the report of a robbery. A preliminary investigation found the same male suspect entered the gas station, displayed a knife, took cash from the register, and left on foot.

On February 21, 2021 at approximately 11:30 AM Milford Police responded to Shell Food Mart at 1345 New Haven Ave on the report of a robbery. A preliminary investigation found that the same male suspect entered the gas station, displayed a knife, and left on foot.

Milford Police Detectives responded to all incidents and conducted the investigations that led to three arrest warrants issued for James Kirstein (W/M, 36) of Hilldale Court in Milford and he was arrested on March 4, 2021.

Kirstein was charged with:

Robbery 1st Degree (3 Counts)

Threating 2nd Degree (2 Counts)

Larceny 5th Degree

Larceny 6th Degree (2 Counts)

Kirstein was held on an $800,000 bond and appeared in Milford Court on March 5, 2021.
