Boys & Girls Village 80th Anniversary Celebration on September 28

Boys & Girls Village (BGV), a leading provider of behavioral health, special education, vocational training, permanency planning services, and juvenile justice initiatives for Connecticut’s most vulnerable youth and their families, is planning an 80th-anniversary celebration.

The Milford-based nonprofit agency began as a "boys’ village" in 1942 where troubled boys could live, work, and learn as a way to redirect their energies. Today the organization is a frontrunner in developing pathways of care for children and families to succeed in life with additional campuses in Norwalk, Waterbury, and Bridgeport.

Boys & Girls Village invites the community to plan to attend an 80th-anniversary celebration event on Wednesday, September 28 from 3:00-5:00pm at their main campus, located at 528 Wheelers Farms Road in Milford, CT.

Enjoy an afternoon of live music, refreshments, networking and learning about the agency where thousands of Connecticut children and families are now excelling because of BGV services. Special guests Connecticut Department of Children and Families Commissioner Vannessa Dorantes and radio personalities Chaz & A.J. from 99.1 WPLR will also be in attendance.

A variety of high-profile sponsorship opportunities for the celebration event are now being offered. Additionally, The Village Foundation will match every donation up to $100,000 dollar for dollar to double the impact. “It is through eight decades of innovative care that Boys & Girls Village has consistently met the challenges facing youth and families in our community. This event kicks off a year-long celebration of our advances and the impact we continue to make on Connecticut’s most vulnerable children and families,” said Kim Shaunesey, Ph.D., President & CEO.
