 “Kindled Eyes” at Schelfhaudt Gallery Exhibit at Paier College, Bridgeport

Don’t miss this powerful exhibition and auction of art by child refugees from the Bridgeport area who participated in an arts program supported by the Fairfield County Community Foundation and Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants. The program encouraged the children to explore self-expression and storytelling through a variety of visual media -  including drawing, painting, sculpting, photography and video. 

“Elements” at Sterling House Community Center, Stratford

The Arts Alliance of Stratford invites you to join an opening reception and sale for an exhibit that interprets the many definitions and artist interpretations of “element.” Form your own interpretation as you stroll and explore.

Bridgeport Art Trail

Friday, November 11 - Sunday, November 13, 6-9 pm

Enjoy art, live music, storytelling, poetry, film screenings, hands-on demos, and family fun at many arts venues and galleries throughout Bridgeport. Tour artists’ studios at American Fabrics, Metro Art Studios, The NEST Art Factory, the Knowlton, and more. Arts venues include City Lights and URSA galleries, the Klein, Bijou Theatre and Park City Music Hall.

Open Studios, Loft Artists Association Gallery, Stamford

Come and explore the studios and galleries, meet artists and get a rare glimpse into the life of a working artist in a collaborative and professional environment. Art collectors, dealers and anyone with an appreciation for high quality artwork will enjoy the opportunity to see the work of 25 diverse artists all in one location. 

The Ultimate Boyband Tribute – Larger Than Life at Bijou Theatre, Bridgeport

Friday, November 11, 8pm

Step back in time at the biggest 90s Party since the Backstreet Boys shut down Times Square. Performing over 40 Boyband songs by the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, New Kids On The Block, 98 Degrees, O-Town, Boyz II Men, LFO, One Direction and many more! And for extra fun the boyz take you back even further with hits by The Jackson 5, Temptations, Four Seasons and other classic male groups! This is the only act of its kind featuring actual boy band singing, dancing, costumes and that pop look. 

Black Violin: Give Thanks Tour at The Palace Theatre, Stamford

Expect to dance along to hits from this band’s Grammy Nominated Take the Stairs album as well as holiday favorites from their Give Thanks album. Led by classically trained string players Wil B. (viola) and Kev Marcus (violin), and joined by DJ SPS and drummer Nat Stokes, this band employs playful storytelling, whimsical string melodies, and hard-hitting beats to highlight the unifying pillars of the holiday season.

It’s an entertaining evening filled with live music, talented performers, and good company where brave attendees may even be shaken out of their comfort zone to hop on the stage themselves. Experience the Manhattan cabaret scene with accompanist Lisa Riggs Hobbs and co-hosts Pamela Jones and Jeffery Albanesi who guide audiences along a spontaneous musical evening of unpredictable laughter and fun. 

“Subject Matter” at Metro Art Studios, Bridgeport

Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13, 10am-5pm

Miggs Burroughs curates a stunning new exhibit at the Crown Gallery with participating artists and several CAFC members: Sue Benton, Miggs Burroughs, Vince Calenzo, Erica Katz, and Jay Petrow. The work includes photography, painting, and mixed media, and is on view through January 6th. While you’re there, enjoy the Open Studios events as part of the Bridgeport Art Trail, including a body painting demo with Alicia Cobb and storytelling with Denise Susalka on Saturday and a concert with The Alternate Routes on Sunday.

 “DefineArt” at The Knowlton, Bridgeport

The first ever hybrid art and NFT exhibit in Connecticut! Over 6,000 square feet of pure artistic creativity will be on display, beginning with a Panel Discussion centered around traditional visual arts and the convergence of NFTs in the marketplace, followed by an exhibit of Contemporary Art and Photography, alongside Digital NFT Creations Minting Live. ‘Get Behind the Canvas’ with Art of Everyone and paint the First Ever Laser Guided NFT which will be “Minted” as an NFT Piece of Art. Wrap up the day with an After Party not to be missed!

“SPAG Right NOW!” at St Philip Artists Guild, Norwalk

Norwalk’s St Philip Artists Guild (SPAG) brings you an exhibit featuring 22 artists participating in a pop up, one-night-only exhibition and open studios event, plus live music, silent auction, sips and nibbles.

Robert Klein at SHU Community Theatre, Fairfield

Come and see the comedian that Jerry Seinfeld calls the “Beatles of Comedy.” For more than 40 years, Robert Klein has been making audiences laugh and critics cheer on Broadway, television and film.

World-Renowned Conductor and Pianist Benjamin Hochman takes the helm and solos with the ‘First Turn’ of Turn, Turn, Turn in which Greater Bridgeport Symphony auditions a successor to replace Music Director Eric Jacobsen. Three concerts will showcase conductors hand-picked by Jacobsen to be his successor.

Musical Borderlands at Quick Center for the Arts, Fairfield

Sunday, November 13, 3-4:45 pm  

In this solo recital, Pianist Orin Grossman shares his fascination for musical borderlands: places where popular culture and so-called high culture connect. He ‘travels’ the Americas to present music from Brazil, Cuba, and the United States. Among the featured composers are Ernesto Lecuona (who was called “the Cuban Gershwin”), Ernesto Nazareth, an early pioneer of Brazilian music, Scott Joplin, and George Gershwin.
