Congratulations to Frances (Fran) Delia, Mailroom Clerk/Custodian with the City’s Department of Public Works for being selected as Employee of the Month for March 2021.
As the recipient of the award for the Mayor’s Employee of the Month Program, please join us in extending a warm congratulation to Fran in receiving this recognition. After a review of all of the nominations, the Selection Committee unanimously chose her as the winner for her teamwork, positive and friendly attitude, dedicated service, and strong worth ethic.
Fran began her employment with the City of Milford on June 13, 2005, in the position of Custodian. Fran performed each of her custodial responsibilities with obvious pride. Fran stepped into the Mail Carrier position on a temporary basis until she was promoted to the position on June 15, 2019.
Fran’s demeanor on a daily basis is cheerful and friendly. She has always been extremely efficient performing her responsibilities. Her efficiency was never more in demand and extraordinary than during the months leading up to the November 2020 elections. COVID generated a daily influx of mail. The Milford City Clerk’s Office and the Registrars of Voters had an exorbitant amount of incoming and outgoing mail. At the end of September and beginning of October, 10,000 pieces of mail were sent out including a batch of 5,000 ballots on October 2, 2020. Throughout the 2020 election, Fran continued to work closely with the City Clerk and Registrars of Voters, coming to work early and meeting to schedule the delivery of absentee ballot applications, picking up ballots and voter registrations.
