On 12/20/19 the CT State Police began investigating a reported missing 16-year-old juvenile, Katherine Konrad from Valley Regional High School in Deep River, CT. The State Police, the FBI and numerous state, local and federal agencies combined resources for this country wide investigation.
Today, January 17 at approximately 4:00 am, Miami Oklahoma Police Department conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. Upon stopping the vehicle it was determined the vehicle was linked to the missing juvenile, Katherine Konrad. Miami Oklahoma Police Department Officers conducted a thorough investigation and were able to identify the occupants in the vehicle.
Katherine Konrad was identified and located in the vehicle. Katherine Konrad was subsequently taken into protective custody by Miami Oklahoma Police Department. For the Connecticut State Police this case remains an open and active investigation however there are no criminal charges at this time.
The Konrad family greatly appreciates the overwhelming support from the community and they are asking for patience and privacy as they move forward.
