Milford Police Make Arrest in Connection to Fraudulent Purchase of a 2016 Honda CR-V

On November 5, 2019, the Milford Police Department was contacted by the New York Police Department Fraud Squad regarding the fraudulent purchase of a 2016 Honda CR-V.

With the assistance of the NYPD Fraud Squad, an investigation was conducted by Detective Sergeant Cortes of this department and found that Dary Fermin (W/M, 36) of 1240 Woodycrest Avenue, Bronx, NY fraudulently used the identity of a victim currently residing in Puerto Rico to open a bank account at TD Bank, 1361 Boston Post Road, and fraudulently purchase a vehicle with the victim’s information at Honda of Milford, 767 Bridgeport Ave, in August, 2019.

Arrest warrants were obtained for Fermin who turned himself in to Milford Police Headquarters on January 24, 2021.

Fermin was charged with:

  • Identity Theft 1st Degree
  • Identity Theft 3rd Degree
  • Forgery 2nd Degree
  • Forgery 3rd Degree
  • Larceny 2nd Degree
  • Criminal Impersonation (2 Counts)

Fermin was released on a $50,000 bond and will appear in Milford Court on March 31, 2021.
