Milford Police aid injured resident after attack, seek public's help to ID suspect

At approximately 02:00 AM, the public safety dispatch center received a call from a resident on Concord Avenue requesting police to respond to what they believed was a fight in the street.

Upon arrival, they located a victim with a severe laceration to his face and began to render aid. The victim was able to communicate that he had left his residence to check on a “grinding” noise in his driveway.

A few moments later, he was attacked by an unknown party, he believes from behind, with a blade of some sort. He was able to describe the suspect as a tall, thin male, wearing all black, with a black facemask.

The suspect entered what is believed to be a silver sedan and fled the area. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening but significant injury and is currently in stable condition. Detectives responded to the scene with our crime scene unit and are investigating the case.

As a reminder, we urge all citizens to refrain from confronting criminal suspects. Call 911 and stay on the line with the public safety dispatch center offering play-by-play of what you see, from a safe and concealed place. That way, our officers can be as well informed as possible when they enter the area and know exactly what to look for.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Mahoney at rmahoney@milfordct.gov or 203-783-4727.
