SUNY Oswego has awarded Jenna C. Caron of Milford a Destination Oswego Scholarship, which goes to high-achieving students from outside New York state.
Caron reserved a place at SUNY Oswego for fall 2016, majoring in meteorology. She last studied at Jonathan Law High School, and was scheduled to begin classes Aug. 29
Destination Oswego awards are worth from $20,000 to $36,000 over four years. SUNY Oswego honored more than 850 incoming students with merit scholarships. Outstanding first-year students are offered Presidential Scholarships of $18,800 ($4,700 a year for up to four years), $6,000 Deans' Awards ($1,500 a year for up to four years), $3,000 Merit Awards ($750 a year for up to four years) and, for outstanding students from outside New York state, Destination Oswego scholarships of $5,000 to $9,000 a year.
