Shakespeare in the Sanctuary

Looking for an interesting way to take in culture while enjoying the great outdoors?  Westmoreland Sanctuary is offering a truly unique way to look at Shakespeare.   Personally I can't wait to give this a try.  I had the opportunity to experience Macbeth in a deserted hotel, at Sleep No More and it was truly a memorable and fantastic experience.  Setting the Tempest in the woods is a brilliant and daring move and I can't wait to see if it will pay off.  There will be four performances:

- Fri. July 25 at 6:30 p.m.
- Sat. July 26 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
- Sun. July 27 at 3:00 p.m.

Westmoreland Sanctuary will present THE TEMPEST, directed by Emma Zakes Green, with sets and costumes by Carolyn Nielsen, at our Nature Center and Wildlife Preserve in Mount Kisco, NY on July 25th-27th, 2014. This 60 minute, family-friendly adaptation will incorporate the beautiful natural setting of the preserve as actors and audience move through the woods and meadows in this unique, engaging production.

Grounds will open 1 1/2 hours before for picnicking and pre-show merriment. Following Westmoreland tradition, the evening's entertainment will end with a marshmallow roast round the campfire. Last year's performances were sold out and we expect even greater audience demand this summer.
