Anyone for Tennis?

On Saturday April 26th tennis professionals from New Canaan Racquet Club and Chelsea Piers are teaming up to raise money for Norwalk Grassroots Tennis (NGT).

NGT was started in 1995 by a group of enthusiastic tennis players, who wanted to give those less fortunate than themselves an opportunity to learn the game. The nonprofit community organization is dedicated to improving the lives of youths from broad socio-economic and cultural backgrounds with programs based on the ideals of tennis legend Arthur Ashe. It is part of the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network of 620 chapters with 350,000 participants founded in 1969 by Ashe, Charlie Pasarell and Sheridan Snyder as the National Junior Tennis League.

Using a world team tennis format, this special event will feature 17 time Grand Slam doubles champion Gigi Fernandez along with her fellow pros Faycal Rhazali and Aldrin Dinya from Chelsea Piers.

NCRC will be represented by Gabi Niculescu, Viktoria Stoklasova, Patrick Eagan and Dan Scheuler.

The event is FREE and will start at 7pm. All tennis players are welcome to come watch some professional quality tennis, whilst supporting a great cause. Donations for Norwalk Grass Roots Tennis will be gratefully accepted.
