The Young Women's League of New Canaan

Old friends and many new members came together on Wednesday evening at Elm Restaurant to toast the beginning of a new year for the Young Women’s League of New Canaan.

Initiatives for this year will be centered on children in need. “As we focus on children we will have the opportunity to get to know, and contribute to, many deserving charities changing the lives of children in our community," said President Jill Tobin. The YWL’s dedicated charity research group is thrilled to have received applications from over 50 worthy organizations.

The YWL is excited to announce the recent launch of the Little Rams Service League, dedicated to introducing preschool and elementary-aged children to service. By participating in age-appropriate volunteer opportunities, the League hopes to help children learn the value of giving back to our community. Service projects will include a coat drive for Person to Person, and October pumpkin delivery benefitting Stay Put in New Canaan.

In addition to signature community events such as the Easter Egg Hunt and Couture for a Cause, the Young Women’s League is adding a number of exciting events to this year’s calendar. A Masked Ball for Children in Need will be held in October, and a spring children’s run is being planned.
