New Canaan Art in The Windows

The Seventh Annual Art in the Windows Exhibition - organized by the Carriage Barn Arts Center (CBAC), the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce (NCCC) and local artists will launch with an Inaugural Art Stroll in May 2014. The event, which showcases local artwork in New Canaan store windows, will encourage people to stroll through the town and visit the businesses showcasing the artwork. This collaboration exemplifies the power of partnership whilst promoting artists, merchants and non-profits (CBAC and NCCC).

Art will be displayed in store windows from May 22nd through June 8th, 2014. This year the Inaugural Art Stroll will take place on Thursday, May 22nd, between 6 – 8 pm. Our Lifestyle Guru & Super Stylist Ed Lent, who has submitted his artwork for display has the following to say:

"Nothing improves our environment more than the creativity of expression that art can bring to our senses. Close to forty artists are going to add a big dose of art in a variety of media to the New Canaan streets as the 7th Annual Art in the Windows is sponsored by the Carriage Barn Arts Center. Shoppers will be able to purchase any of the art on exhibit at various retail shops throughout town benefiting the not-for- profit Carriage Barn Arts Center located in Waveny Park. Artists receive 50% and 50% supports the New Canaan Society for the Arts, which operates the Carriage Barn Arts Center. A special event 'Pop up Art in the New Canaan Pop up Park' where artists can paint all day and there will be children's activities will take place on Saturday May, 31 from noon - 4:00pm. As is often seen in European towns, on the sidewalks outside the shops exhibiting their works. Come enjoy fresh air and fresh art and meet many local artists as you shop and stroll in beautiful New Canaan".
