Peter Brown, Author of The Wild Robot, Presents Children’s Events at New Canaan Library

Along with the adult read of Spare Parts,New Canaan Library’s One Book New Canaan program this year features The Wild Robot as a companion book specifically for kids. The Library is pleased to welcome Peter Brown, the book’s award-winning author/illustrator, for two events for young readers. Both events will take place in the Adrian Lamb Room; please register online, at newcanaanlibrary.org.

Peter Brown, author/illustrator of the middle-grade book The Wild Robot, its sequel The Wild Robot Escapes, and many others, will visit the Library on Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. Brown will discuss the process of creating The Wild Robot along with insights into his creative development from childhood to the present. He will also present a drawing demonstration, along with some quick lessons. Following will be a question and answer period, and time for book signing.

On Friday, March 22 at 10 a.m. Brown returns to greet his younger fans. Preschoolers and their parents/caregivers are invited to listen to a story and learn how he illustrates his picture books. Some of his books geared towards a younger audience include Mr. Tiger Goes Wild, Children Make Terrible Pets, My Teacher is a Monster, The Curious Garden, and many more.

Copies of all titles will be available for purchase and signing at both events, courtesy of Elm Street Books.
