Hairspray, the Broadway musical is set in 1962 Baltimore. It tells the story of the lovable plus-sized teen - Tracy Turnblad (played by Rebecca Spigelman) whose only desire is to dance on the popular Corny Collins TV show. When her dream comes true, she is transformed from social outcast to a local star. She decides to use her new found popularity to try and win the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin (played by Nick Pankuch) dethrone the reigning Teen Queen and integrate a TV network all without denting her bandstand beehive!
