Ms. Diane Wilson was approved at the September 21, 2021 Board of Selectmen meeting to be the Comptroller for the Town of New Canaan.
Ms. Wilson started with the Town’s Finance department in 2006. She has served as the Pension / Retiree Benefits Administrator for 15 years, overseeing all pension and OPEB related activities, including working with the plans’ actuary, external auditors, investment advisors, and Town boards and various committees.
Diane holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Connecticut. She previously taught courses in accounting and finance at local area colleges. Prior to joining the Town, Diane spent 10 years with DuPont/Dow Chemical (formerly Union Carbide) in management positions for the accounting and financial functions, including; business analysis, financial control, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, capital markets and treasury operations. She also worked 4 years in banking and credit analysis with JP Morgan Chase.
First Selectman Kevin Moynihan added: “I am very pleased that Diane was selected from a competitive field of candidates to be our Comptroller. Diane has been an asset to our Human Resources Department for many years and I am happy that we will be able to deploy her talents more broadly to strengthen our Finance Department under Lunda Asmani’s leadership.”
