Update New Canaan Route 106 is now reopened between Lapham Road and Weed Street.
This morning, Thursday, May 2, Russ Kimes New Canaan Emergency Management Director reported that 1-95 North and Southbound are closed in Norwalk in the area of Exits 14 and 15 due to a tractor-trailer accident and subsequent fire. The Fairfield Ave bridge overpass is also closed due to the fire.
Kimes said, "New Canaan residents should expect additional traffic in town in unexpected places as vehicles work their way around this closure. New Canaan Police will monitor the various intersections in town to ensure traffic flows as best as possible.
There is no estimated time for reopening either North or Southbound I-95. You can monitor CTROADS for updates on this incident.
