Editor's note: the following information is courtesy of Town of New Canaan Newsletter and the photo is by Elaine Lloyd.
New Canaan’s Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) Sub-Committee is launching a photography
contest as part of its 10-Year Plan update. This is the next phase of a yearlong community engagement plan that
started with a survey that received over 2,000 responses and was followed by multiple public hearings to share
feedback directly with the sub-committee.
Today, we are tapping into the creative side of our townspeople and are seeking current photos of New Canaan
that highlight what makes our town special. The contest is open to all ages and anyone in town who has a
and buildings.
The POCD Subcommittee and staff will select as many photos as possible to include throughout the final plan,
and the Winner’s Photo will be clearly showcased. Please note that not every photo submitted to the contest will
make it into the plan. The Town will also keep these photos and may use them for future purposes. Submitting a
photo conveys permission for the Town to publish it.
Please submit your photos by email to sarah.carey@newcanaanct.gov before May 1,2024. In your email,
reference the Photo Contest and include the photographer’s name and address.
