Candlewood Lake Clean up June 15th!

 

Dear Candlewood Lake lovers,

In an effort to clean up Candlewood Lake, and the surrounding land and beaches, all five towns that surround Candlewood—Brookfield, Danbury, New Milford, Sherman, and New Fairfield—have come together to help.

Volunteers from all five towns will pick up the winter debris and trash, and bring it to the Cottonwood Cove Marina on boats. Cottonwood Cove is located at the causeway to the Candlewood Isle community in New Fairfield, CT. FirstLight Power Resources, which owns the lake, will provide dumpsters which will serve as the collection bins.

The event has been created with the intent of preserving Candlewood Lake, and the surrounding land and beaches. We hope this will be a community effort, with families coming together for a worthy cause. Complimentary cold beverages and barbequed food will be available to volunteers in the afternoon once they reach the Marina.
