Fatal Accident in New Fairfield is Under Investigation

Operator of Motorcycle Dies from Injuries Sustained in MVA in New Fairfield

The operator of a Kawasaki Motorcycle (Operator #2) was traveling on RT 39 northbound prior to Old Shortwoods Road in New Fairfield.

The motorcycle crossed over the double yellow lines into the southbound lane and was struck by Vehicle #1, an Optimal Kia, operated by Christine Alyssa Rabuse of New Fairfield who was traveling southbound in the southbound lane.

Operator #2 was ejected from the motorcycle and came to a rest in front of #37 RT 39.

Both Vehicle #1 and Vehicle #2 sustained moderate damage and required towing at the scene.

The operator of the Motorcycle was transported to Danbury Hospital where the operator was pronounced deceased. The operator of Vehicle #1, Rabuse, was transported to Danbury Hospital for minor injuries.
