Take A Stand Against Domestic Violence & Wear Denim Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 26 is Denim Day: Wear Jeans to Show & Say NO to Domestic Violence!

For the past 18 years, Peace Over Violence has run its Denim Day campaign on a Wednesday in April in honor of Sexual Violence Awareness Month. "Wearing jeans on Denim Day has become a symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault," they say.

Peace Over Violence asks community members, elected officials, businesses and students to make a social statement with their fashion statement and wear jeans as a visible means of protest against myths that surround sexual assault.

Locally, The Women's Center provides prevention, crisis intervention, and support services with regard to domestic violence, sexual assault, and other major life transitions. Their free and confidential services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
